Sunset Malapascua Island

August 11th Philippines

Third Day of Open Water/ Breathing Exercise

I woke up a lot more excited to go to class. I was even more excited when I learned we were doing our dive part of class at Kalanggaman Island. We did our book part of the lesson on the boat ride there. Dor pause our lessons a little so we could watch dolphins! I was happy he did because I was getting distracted by them. We did our training close to the sandy beach. We finished our training at the prefect time to eat lunch. I sat and ate my lunch with all the dive-masters. I wanted to get to know them more. They seem like truly good people and they treated each-other like family. I couldn’t help myself think maybe I could become a dive-master and move to Malapascua Island myself. Maybe one day…

After lunch Dor and I went on a fun dive. I got down to 16 meters, which was exciting for me at this time. I saw the most fish I have seen in my entire life. The fish that I was most excited about was a popcorn fish. SO cute! I now was starting to understand why people would want to scuba dive. I didn’t want to go to the surface, but our boat was ready.

The boat ride back was something I’ll never forget. The view of the sunset on one side of the was beautiful and if that wasn’t enough the view of the full moon was on the other side of the boat. Dolphins were jumping all around! Words can not describe how beautiful it was. I was in total bliss. I didn’t have my GoPro or my camera to take pictures, so I’m sorry I can’t share my experience with you, but I have it in my memory forever.

When I meet back up with Albin, Johan, Rebecca I was so pumped-up to tell them. We decided to eat dinner Amihan Restaurant and one of the nicer places that we ate at. It was pretty good and a pretty view. It was late by the time we got back to our room. We All did some reading. Then Albin, Johan, and I did some breathing exercises. It was my first time. I was surprised that I could hold my breath for about 2 min and some (I don’t remember the exact time.  It is a fun challenge and the contractions didn’t scare me. If anything they distracted me enough to let me hold my breath longer. I was sweating when we were done. It is always hot, but it was a workout on my body. haha! After the full day I feel asleep feeling the happiest I have in a long time.
