Halloween

BOOOO BOOO!!!! Now don’t get scared. Sorry, Halloween is coming and it is just my favorite time of year. I love everything about it; the magic and creativity it causes people to look out side of the box for decorating and costumes.

Halloween started in the Celtic Paganism in the British Isles, and their feast of Samhain, the new year, over 2000 years ago. It was believed that if the people dressed up and gave treats it would scare the ghosts and spirits that cam out, away!

Dressing up is not every-ones favorite, but I feel they are missing out on the fun! Dressing up gives you a chance to not only look different, but it can cause you to feel different too! Costumes can be funny, scary, slutty, pretty or just ugly. Yes, store bought costumes can be very expensive, especially if you buy last minute; which happens a lot with the people I know. I like to make my own costume. Not only because I’m a cheapskate, but because I love craft and being creative.

Decorating is more popular than dressing up. What I love about it is that it can make my house look different for every holiday and it makes me feel like I got a new house. It makes me get feelings of joy that nothing else does. Just a quick change of curtains, lights, wall hangings, throw rugs and blankets can make a huge difference. I like to go over the top and add a ton with cobwebs, spider, skulls, and as much decorations I can come up with. I have found the best way for me to buy supplies is the dollar store and to wait till the end of the year when the season is over and everything goes on sale. I find great decorations for cheap is exciting, and most times I forget what I got and when the holiday comes back around I get to be excited all over again.
