Louie Lake Aug 21
My friend and I drove to the bottom of the trail head and suited up. The hike was pretty steep with backpacks and float tubes so I got a little butt workout. I have always wondered what it was like to get in a float tube and fish. There is one part you have to cross a stream, there are lots of little logs that run across it to walk on, just be careful they wiggle and can be slick. I didn’t time, but I would guess it took like 30 mins. It was pretty smoky, because it was during Smoke Season in Idaho, but it was still pretty. The water was a little chilly at first, but warmed up pretty fast. We got in our float tubes right away.
I found it a little bit of a challenge casting from a seated position, but after a few tries I adjusted alright. I found an unconventional way to catch fish, but casting and paddling with my feet and letting the nymph drag. My kicking was at just the right speed that it work. I out fished my friend and caught a couple Cutthroat Trout.
There is trails that go all around the lake. I am just warning you though… There are a ton of hug chipmunks. Please do not feed them. They are not scared of humans anymore and they will ruin your stuff and get in your pack right in front of you. Keep food in a animal safe container away from them.

Wow! Thank you! I always needed to write on my blog something like that. Can I implement a part of your post to my site?
