    Thanksgiving

    Did you know that the reason the first Thanksgiving, back in 1621 a feast after the first harvest of corn between the Pilgrims’ and fledgling colony’s Native American allies, including the Wampanoag Chief Massasoit. Govenor William Brandford organized it after Native American, Squanto, a member of the Pawtuxet tribe taught the Pilgrims how to extract sap from maple trees, catch fish, how to avoid poisonous plants, after they were malnutrition with illnesses. Squanto also forged an alliance with the Wampanoag tribe and the Pilgrims, which held sold for over 50 years. In schools I wasn’t taught the full story.
